New Scanner at IMS

IMS has recently added a handheld parts scanner to our toolbox. What does this mean for our customers?

With this portable device we can now:

• Visit customers on site to scan parts, in some cases while it’s still attached to the machine
• Scan items that customers bring to us, especially parts that have unusual designs which can be tricky to wrap a standard tape measure around
• Offer scanning services to other industries we don’t typically make products for (like auto or airplane parts) and produce drawings those customers can keep

Training for the new scanner was offered to our employees here on site in Abbotsford. Some took part while the rest of the team kept things running at the shop. Those who took the training are now able to teach their co-workers so we can all learn something new!

We’re excited to start offering this new service – it’s just one of the ways we’re working to increase our value to serve you better.
